Other online networks

Published on August 1st, 2008

There are literally thousands of online networks to participate in and we have all considered the term “social NOTworking” as a more adequate label for the ongoing perpetual MySpace and Facebook-activities. However, some of these tools could be useful.

R001-030

I currently have profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Kommunikationsforum (DK), YouTube, Flickr, MitKBH (DK), Mangospot (DK), Yelp and Cargo Collective.

LinkedIn is my preferred business contact network. It is less fuzzy and more sober, compared to MySpace and Facebook. Furthermore, LinkedIn enables me to stay in touch with my clients and acquintances that I don’t see regularly. Henceforth, it also allows me to recommend my business partners, which I think is a nice subtle gesture. I try to keep my LinkedIn resume updated, however, it is a bit limited when it comes to project work. My most recent resume can be found here. Visit my LinkedIn-profile

Although I have a MySpace-profile, I rarely use it. Visit my MySpace.

Kommunikationsforum is a Danish community for freelance writers and people who work with communication.

YouTube allows me to upload my own movies. I love short and simple movies.

Flickr is a great tool for publishing photos online, however, I use it mostly as an extra backup and most of my photos are hidden.

Finally, MitKBH, Mangospot and Yelp.com are all user-driven websites where you can review restaurants, shops and bars. If you use these sites you might eventually come across one of my reviews.
